The Most Touching Moment in Retreat
On
September, my class had retreat at GSV Prigen. The theme of this retreat is
“Life With Purpose”. The teacher expected that the student will have a clear
view about their future. This retreat was a must. In this retreat, we did
various activities, such as getting moral teachers from Father Werang and
Frater Agustinus, playing games, small night discussion with the teacher and
holy mass.
At
the first time we started the retreat, we were so excited and happy, because we
thought that by having retreat, we had no class. We were free for 3 days from
the boring school subjects. The other fun thing was we had the retreat at the
same place when we were in 10th grade.
Among
those activities, there are some touching moments that change my life
gradually. One of them was a small night discussion with the teachers. At that
time, each student got a chance to tell anything, any problem to teachers and
friends. It was a good chance to be more intimate among each other. From what I
witnessed, I know that most student felt better after telling and discussing
their problems, whether there were big or small. Even though, they didn’t get a
solution from the problem they still get support from the teacher and friends.
At the end of discussion, the teachers and the student hug and give moral
support to each other. During the discussion, the students were asked to make
commitment to themselves. Our class commitment is to be united, energetic,
care, and optimistic students.
At
the 3rd day, the time for us to get back to Surabaya, we felt
anxious. It seemed that we wanted to stay there forever. We know that there will
be no more opportunity to visit this place in the future. We will miss it very
much. This place has given us many unforgettable memories and lessons.
We
went back to Surabaya at 13th September. After the retreat, I
practice to apply anything that I learnt from the retreat. I realize that, I
have to have a purpose in my life to direct my future. Besides, I should become
a better person for my family and my own future. I should also have a balance
life to achieve something that I have planned. In the future, I expect to be
loving, strong, and tough individual, therefore I should learn to forgive one’s
wrongdoings, to apologize for my mistakes, to accept my past, to forget any
harmful things happened in my life and to keep developing my abilities, independence
and good characters.
